Possible standardized teacher/principle evaluations

Four years have been spent by a Teacher Effectiveness Steering Committee developed through a partnership with several statewide education groups, colleges and universities to construct a standard evaluation system for Kentucky’s teachers and principles.

Evaluation systems are in place already, but they vary from district to district. With the adoption of Common Core State Standards for the progress of students learning, it seems to be in line with the direction Kentucky education is moving to standardize this aspect of the system as well. As mentioned, the program has been in the works for some time and is actually being field tested in more than 50 school districts. We’ll be interested to see the results.
